My name is Ungenita Prevost, and while many of you know me as a Hollywood Actress/Body Double, I want you to know the real story behind my road to beauty from the inside/out.

I am a self-professed beauty junkie, product fanatic and vanity driven girl from New Orleans who recently learned that Beauty…It’s Not Just Vanity, It’s Valuing Yourself!!!™

As young as 10 years old I can vividly remember using my allowance to buy beauty products. Something about lotions and potions turned me on. That’s how I spent my allowance money. I wonder how much I’ve spent in my life on beauty. The amount is incalculable! Now you understand where The Billion Dollar Beauty philosophy comes from. Thank God I learned money saving techniques!

I didn’t want to go to college because I wanted to go to Performing Arts School. So my mother and I compromised and I went to Beauty College in the San Francisco Bay Area. What a memorable time! I was in heaven. I studied the Aesthetician course for skin care. My studies included basic skin care with the understanding of how ingredients in products affect the skin, skin waxing and make-up application. I learned how to apply foundation, eyeliner, eyelashes, and contour the eyes with shadow and the cheeks with blush, using the appropriate cosmetic utensils.

Specialty treatments at the time were Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Glycolic Acid and Enzyme Peels. One of the perks of going to Cosmetology School was being able to sample hundreds of skin care products. All the high end products like Murad, MD Formulation, Yonka, Aveda, Dermalogica were in my beauty bag. I gained a remarkable amount of knowledge about ingredients. It only fueled my fire even more to take care of my skin.

I enjoyed giving facials and even developed a knack for waxing eyebrows. I gladly helped the beauty college customers. It wasn’t uncommon for me to walk away with a $5.00 tip for a $10.00 beauty treatment. I was able to look good, beautify others and keep hundreds of dollars in the bank. I also volunteered to be a test model for other students. I managed to squeeze in learning about hair-coloring techniques and my favorite hair extensions. Upon graduation I took a job going to retirement homes assisting a stylist with hair-dos, manicures, and pedicures for the retirees. My other passionate goal was to succeed in the entertainment business so I packed my beauty bags, loaded up a Uhaul, and headed south to pursue my dreams in Hollywood.

Strikingly Unique

Those skills were a wonderful prerequisite for a career in entertainment. Upon arrival I assisted make-up artists on movie sets. My finances were limited at the time but with my knowledge I was able to maintain economically. I am so happy my mother made me go to school. I was armed with an arsenal of beauty techniques that gave me a tremendous advantage as an actress. It is so important to look your best, and fortunately, I knew “The How.”

In my perpetual pursuit of beauty I have stretched my dollar on skin-care products, trips to the spa, subscriptions to top magazines and last but not least clothes, shoes and accessories. I visit my dermatologist more than my dentist and read all the beauty books that have been on New York Time's best seller list.

I have the modus operandi of some of Hollywood's top make-up artists, hairstylists and costume designers. Talk about a box of tricks!

As a body double and professional dancer I was so focused on my external beauty that I was oblivious to the benefits of internal beauty. Then, around three years ago, I was enlightened by the works of scientist Dr. Alexander Schauss and Dr. Nicholas Perricone. It has enabled me to delve into what true beauty is all about.
